Using Tags in Chaturbate

To use the tags, look for the menu item “Tags” on the menu bar on the top.  It’s the third one on the menu.

When you click through that, a list of tags is shown.  Chaterbate used to sort them by the no. of viewers, with the highest ones listed first.  But they have changed it.  Now it is not obvious how it is sorted. But there is no search whatsoever. What shall we do?

Narrow niches tags

Composing your Chaturbate tag search

If you can’t the ones you want from the list above and you are familiar with how URL works, you may try to compose a URL to go straight to the tag page you want.

Syntax of the tag URL

https://chaturbate.com/tag/ + NameOfTheTag + gender (optional)

Examples

https://chaturbate.com/tag/latina/f/ will take you to a home page with lots of female Latina.

https://chaturbate.com/tag/indian/m/ will take you to a home page with lots of male Indians.

Use the official tags listed below, or if you already know the custom tag that models used, just put it after “https://chaturbate.com/tag/”. Then add:

• /f for female models
• /m for male
• /c for couples
• /t for trans

Understanding tags of CB – official vs un-official

Chatrubate has pre-defined 100 commonly used tags to use internally. If you use these in the above custom URLs, it will work, as in it will return a webpage and not a 404 page-not-found error.

CB also allows models to type anything after the # to make a hashtag. These are unofficial and are changing constantly, not to mention they may include spelling mistakes. At the same time, that’s where all the obscure niches can be defined – #balloons, #giantess, #messy, #looners, #rideteddy, #scarf, #gloves, #masks, #asmr #sph, you name it.

Insert these words into your URLs to find the cams that you want. Don’t forget to specify genders if you are looking for a particular one.

Benefits of tags:

1. It gives you a one-glance impression of how many models are featuring this niche.
2. Just use the Find function in your browser, say, Ctrl-F, and you can quickly search for your niche or particular keywords that you are looking for.  For example, “fatass”, “cumonface”
3. Each hashtag is clickable.  Click on the tag and it will create a new tab on your screen showing all models who use that hashtag.  It’s very useful to narrow down your choices.

This feature is no longer new on Chaturbate.  In fact, there are other cam sites that copied the same concept.  Stripchat is one of them.

Note:

As I said, the tags are sorted by no. of visitors.  This shows what most people are watching at the moment.  This means one super-model who has 10,000 viewers and uses 10 hashtags may bring her tags to the top of the list easily.  So, don’t just go for what’s listed on the top.  Search for the keywords that really interest you.  Otherwise, it’s no different from going to the Who’s Online page and finding the room with the largest no. of viewers and presuming it’s good.

Chaturbate has cleverly avoided working things out themselves, and let the cam models “try and find out” what tags are good to use to describe their niche and fetishes in their chatrooms. Instead of flooding the screen with categories of cams that are too generic or not popular.  You never know.  Maybe one day, “#ahegao” is the new hot topic?!
